Summary:
SAMSN1 is a member of a novel gene family of putative adaptors and scaffold proteins containing SH3 and SAM (sterile alpha motif) domains (Claudio et al., 2001 [PubMed 11536050]). [supplied by OMIM, Mar 2008]. Transcript Variant: This variant (2) contains alternate exons at the 5' end and initiates translation from an alternate start codon compared to variant 1. The resulting longer isoform (2) has a distinct N-terminus compared to isoform 1. Sequence Note: This RefSeq record was created from transcript and genomic sequence data to make the sequence consistent with the reference genome assembly.
