Description:
Recombinant human MIF protein with C-terminal hFc tag
Background:
This gene encodes a lymphokine involved in cell-mediated immunity, immunoregulation, and inflammation. It plays a role in the regulation of macrophage function in host defense through the suppression of anti-inflammatory effects of glucocorticoids. This lymphokine and the JAB1 protein form a complex in the cytosol near the peripheral plasma membrane, which may indicate an additional role in integrin signaling pathways. Molecular weight:
The protein has a predicted molecular mass of 38.5 kDa after removal of the signal peptide. The apparent molecular mass of MIF-hFc is approximately 35-55 kDa due to glycosylation.

Store at -20°C to -80°C for 12 months in lyophilized form. After reconstitution, if not intended for use within a month, aliquot and store at -80°C (Avoid repeated freezing and thawing). Lyophilized proteins are shipped at ambient temperature.
