Background:

Myf5 is a member of the myogenic basic helix-loop-helix family of transcription factors. These activate the muscle differentiation program. Myf5 also induces fibroblasts to differentiate into myoblasts. It is a probable sequence specific DNA-binding protein.

Myf-5 (A88) polyclonal antibody detects endogenous levels of Myf-5 protein.
